An initiative «One Step Ahead» in Salem Balhamer Holding for early awareness of breast cancer and health support on the occasion of Pink October

In an initiative «One Step Ahead» in solidarity with Pink October for breast cancer, Salem Balhamer Holding Group is preparing to organize an awareness event on October 15, with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of early detection and encouraging the group’s employees to adopt preventive health practices that are more concerned with women’s health.

This initiative comes within the framework of the group’s move towards building a supportive work environment for employees, which is not limited to professional development only but extends to include caring for their health and well-being and promoting a culture of social responsibility.

The «One Step Ahead» initiative also carries a clear message that concern for health begins with awareness and that taking an early step can be a difference in the prevention journey. Therefore, the event will combine health awareness, consultations, live examinations, and interactive activities in a positive atmosphere aimed at breaking the barrier of fear or postponement and encouraging women to pay attention to periodic examinations.

One Step Ahead initiative to transform awareness into a practical step

The launch of the initiative «One Step Ahead» comes from the importance of transforming health awareness into practical behavior, and therefore the event will work to present information in a simplified and interactive way that helps participants understand the importance of early screening and the steps associated with it.

This initiative aims to raise awareness among members of Salem Balhamer Holding Group about the importance of early detection of breast cancer, with a special focus on introducing women to methods of self-examination and periodic medical examination. The initiative will also encourage women aged 40 and over to undergo mammograms as part of its message to support preventive health.

Another important aspect of the initiative is working to correct some common misconceptions about the disease and screening by providing a space for dialogue, asking questions, and obtaining information from the specialists participating in the event. This approach helps make awareness clearer and closer to the needs of female employees.

The initiative also aims to break the barrier of fear or postponement that may prevent some women from taking the screening step by providing a positive and supportive experience that combines awareness, services, and interactive activities.

The message is not limited to women only, as the initiative seeks to involve men in supporting their colleagues and families and encouraging them to pay attention to early detection, which enhances the concept of community participation in spreading health awareness.

Through these goals, the initiative reflects the group’s concern for the health of its employees and supports building an institutional culture that places prevention and awareness among the important elements in the work environment.

Awareness pillars, consultations, and direct examinations

The «One Step Ahead» initiative will include a set of awareness pillars that combine health information and practical experience, making it easier for participants to take the first step towards paying more attention to their health.

The vital signs examination section will be one of these sections, as it will allow measuring blood pressure, sugar, weight, and other indicators to be a simple entry point for public health concerns and to encourage participants to follow up on health indicators periodically.

The initiative will also include a self-examination section, which will provide a practical explanation of the self-examination method using illustrative models, in addition to guidance from a specialist. This section aims to help women understand the examination steps more clearly and answer questions related to it in a supportive environment.

As for the consultation corner, it will give attendees the opportunity to benefit from consultations with a specialist to evaluate the skin condition  and answer questions and inquiries. This corner adds a direct and interactive aspect to the experience by providing an opportunity for dialogue and obtaining guidance from a specialist.

These pillars will contribute to making the initiative more than just an awareness-raising event, as it will provide attendees with an opportunity to learn about information, ask questions, and benefit from the services available in the same place.

This step comes as part of the initiative’s aim to facilitate the beginning so that knowledge of the importance of early detection does not remain just information but rather turns into an incentive to take practical steps related to preventive health.

Competitions, prizes, and candlelight workshops in a positive atmosphere

In addition to the health pillars, the «One Step Ahead» initiative will offer a range of activities aimed at increasing interaction and participation and providing awareness messages away from the atmosphere that may be associated with fear or anxiety when talking about breast cancer.

The event will include interactive competitions on awareness content, with prizes offered to the winners, with the aim of encouraging attendees to participate and consolidating the health information that will be provided during the initiative.

These activities help make learning more interactive and turn healthy messages into an enjoyable experience that is easier to remember.

The initiative also featured a candle-making workshop specifically for beneficiaries who had undergone breast cancer treatment, offering them a creative and uplifting experience in a warm, friendly, and supportive atmosphere.

The workshop came as a nice space to celebrate them and give them a different experience that combines creativity and interaction, away from an atmosphere of anxiety and fear, reflecting the spirit of initiative in providing psychological and social support in addition to health awareness.

The workshop also comes as part of the initiative’s vision to provide a balanced experience that combines awareness and social activity and helps create a more comfortable space for interaction and participation.

The event will also include discount coupons for beneficiaries, including offers on examination services or health and beauty products from partner entities, in addition to discount coupons for female employees in appreciation of their participation and interaction.

By combining awareness, creative activities, competitions, and incentives, «One Step Ahead» aims to present a health message in a different way, making participation easier and encouraging continued interest in health after the event ends.

One Step Ahead initiative: Community partnership to support health awareness during Pink October

The initiative «One Step Ahead» comes within the efforts of Salem Balhamer Holding Group to support health awareness and enhance social responsibility by paying attention to the health of employees.

Therefore, all Saudi Cancer Foundation, Dammam National Medical Complex, and Dar Afia Hospital participate in this important initiative, which supports the awareness and advisory aspect of the event and contributes to providing a more comprehensive experience for participants.

This is because the initiative is of particular importance during Pink October, which witnesses intensified awareness-raising efforts related to breast cancer.

The event represents an opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of early detection and encourage women not to postpone medical examinations.

The initiative also reflects the group’s approach to placing its employees at the heart of its community and humanitarian programs by providing a space that combines awareness, support, and interaction.

This step is consistent with the group’s culture, which places concern for people and developing the work environment among its priorities, in addition to its diverse activity across multiple sectors in the Kingdom and abroad.

Through the «One Step Ahead» initiative, Salem Balhamer Holding Group will seek  to deliver a message that goes beyond the limits of effectiveness itself: prevention begins with awareness, and early detection begins with a step.
